When and where did you first start bowling?
In 1995 – In Milwaukee
What do you like about lawn bowling? What keeps you coming back?
The challenge of getting better at it. Competition!! Being outdoors while playing the game !! The players I’ve met over the years!!!
What kind of lawn bowls do you use? (brand, model, size)
Henselite Tigers, size 5; Henselite Classics, size 6; Greenmaster Premiers, size 4
How many sets of bowls do you presently own? 4 Sets
What type of grip do you use? (finger-tip, claw, palm, other)
A loose combination of all 3 of the above mentioned!!
How do you initially select your line? (point on bank, spot on green, shoulder-arc of bowl, overall visualization of green, other)
A mix of the shoulder arc, and over-all visualization of the shot!!!
What game do you prefer to play and why? (i.e. singles-pairs-triples-fours)
I really like Pairs. For me it’s the right amount of bowls and Team play!!!
What is your goal during trial ends?
Get the “feel” of the rink!!!
In singles, do you usually take the mat or give it away?
Depends on the opposition!!!
In a clutch situation, are you more likely to draw or drive? (assuming both shots could work)
Draw—Draw!!
What self-talk/mantras do you use during a game?
“Relax dude; it’s only a game!!!!”
Do you prefer whites or colored attire for tournament play?
I love a fancy Hook-up!!!
Which is your favorite bowling green in US?
Bell Recreation Center – Sun City, Arizona
What one rule of the game would you like to see changed?
I’m pretty happy with the way they are!!!
What else would you like people to know about you?
I’m the greenskeeper at the Milwaukee club, and I really enjoy working with the greens –It’s a another huge challenge managing 2 bent grass greens in Wisconsin weather conditions!! But I love it!! I’m married to Paula. I have two sons, 23yrs and 21yrs old. I’m a residential builder/ renovator. I enjoy high altitude climbing – Bicycling – Playing drums in various bands (R and B type music) and playing piano (for myself mainly).
